Mindfulness in business
Mindfulness is, in simple terms, a form of mental training that develops awareness. It generates a lot of interest because advances in neuroscience, combined with compelling evidence based research, shows physiologically and psychologically how it works. This research is of interest to HR Leaders because the efficacy of mindfulness is such that its impact positively affects concentration, mental health, emotional intelligence, well-being, and happiness. As a result of attending this session you will be able to understand and explain in lay terms what mindfulness means and how it works, practice a number of mindfulness approaches proven to promote health and wellbeing and consider how the concepts of mindfulness could enhance your personal and workplace performance.

How to get started? How long does it take to develop this type of the team and how to measure the move and achievements? During the workshop Rasťo will answer these questions, present a case study and a demonstration of the development activity that teams can use.

Building a Performance Management Culture
Process changes like eliminating performance ratings may be in vain or actually cause greater problems; the real focus should be on building a performance culture. The workshop covers the elements that comprise a culture of performance excellence, as well as framing what needs to be done in a change management context. Attendees will be able to compare their own organisations with the elements and consider which areas they might need to focus on in building their own cultures of performance excellence.

EVA VAVRÁKOVÁ a ANETA VALENTOVÁ (workshop)
Workplaces supporting employee health and well-being
We usually spend more than a third of a day at work. The office environment therefore has a great impact on our health and well-being and hence on our ability to perform at work. In the framework of the workshop, Eva and Aneta will introduce the concept of a healthy office, taking into account the user (employee) needs. They will share their own WELL certification experience that HB Reavis applies to the design of their project. WELL certification, created by the International Well Building Institute, defines more than 100 criteria for a healthy environment. It focuses, for example, on the quality of air, water and light, healthy nutrition, movement, but also the comfort and mental well-being of employees. Finally, they will present a case study - a project of designing and realizing their own office space. During the workshop you will be able to gain practical tips on how to improve the working environment for your own employees.

FRANK KOHL-BOAS
Are you ready for the VUCA world?
We live in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. Changes happen often overnight. They are fast and unpredictable (Singularity University calls it the “6-D”: Digitized, Deceptive, Disruptive, Demonetized, Dematerialised, Democratized). Whilst the change is driven by technology, the challenge is one of human beings owning, shaping and adapting to the changes. To do so successfully requires a new way of learning, a new way of leadership and the willingness to develop and evolve company cultures which were often created in the industrial age. Frank will share with you some examples of how to face change in the different facets - creating a learning culture, displaying a needed leadership and creating a work environment allowing for the former two to happen.
